What skills are most important for a job like yours?

This is a great question. You really have to be meticulous.

I mentioned that everything going to the public had to be scrutinized by our legal department. We had to be honest and truthful about any claims we made about our product, and you have to be meticulous about that.

You have to dot your i's and cross your t's, review, and have many sets of eyes looking at your product just in case something is missed by mistake. I can tell you a sad story about a peer of mine.

We were working on an experiential event, and she ordered T-shirts. On the back, it listed the city of every city where this product was available. However, there was a misspelling on one of the cities, and those 500 T-shirts could not be used.

That was embarrassing for her and really sad. Obviously, it was an economic loss as well. But this is an example of how being meticulous in editing, closely and with multiple sets of eyes on whatever is going to the public, is so important.
