Entry-Level Positions for Aspiring Consultants at Deloitte

Fahim, a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, advises undergraduate students interested in consulting to explore opportunities at both large firms like "the big four" and smaller consulting firms, emphasizing that "smaller consulting firms...provide valuable experience" and a less intense learning environment. This approach, as illustrated by Fahim's own career trajectory starting at a smaller firm, allows for foundational skill development before advancing to more challenging roles.

What entry-level positions in this field might an undergraduate college student consider?

Something I like to tell people is to always consider every consulting company. Currently, I'm in a Big Four, but if jobs there aren't available, smaller consulting firms can provide valuable experience.

When I joined M2 Strategy, I was in an entry-level position. I learned about consulting, financial consulting, and risk management from the ground up.

I recommend considering these smaller firms because you can learn in a less intense setting. This enables growth and helps you take your skills to the next level. So definitely consider those smaller consulting companies.
