What did you do in undergrad to set you up for your success in your career?

Some of the things I did in undergrad were taking advantage of internships available within the county. I also shadowed individuals, maybe for a day.

I went to hospitals and the county, asking if I could do an internship. I also went to different departments within the county, asking if there was a way to do an internship or even shadow someone.

When they had events, like health events or health fairs, I participated. That's where you can build connections and talk to people in those fields. You can basically pick their brains and ask questions.

Ask about a day in their life and go to different career health fairs. Talk to people who are interested or are in the field you want to get into. Take advantage of those opportunities.

This helps you be successful when you transition and start working. Later on, those individuals you made connections with, when you are established in your career, can still help and guide you. This is all about making connections and keeping yourself updated on what's going on.
