What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?
One lesson I've learned is the importance of stakeholder buy-in. As a school leader, you're charged with leading a school, and that comes with a lot of power.
You have the power to make decisions, but when making them, getting buy-in from different stakeholder groups is key. This is particularly true for staff, who will be acting on whatever decision you make.
Being able to influence people around a vision or goal, with strong rationale, is important. A lot of that comes with leveraging their voices and having them give feedback.
Really involving staff in the process makes a huge difference in how something is rolled out or how it goes.
