How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

It's a really big industry, and there's something for everybody and all personality types. But for a college graduate who wants to become a project manager, I would say they need strong communication skills. That's required for the role across the board.

They also need problem-solving skills. There will always be hiccups in construction, and you need to be able to navigate around them without getting stuck when they arise.

Finally, the ability to thrive under pressure is essential. There are tight schedules, tight budgets, and many people invested in these projects. It can get stressful, and that's something somebody needs to be able to handle to succeed in this industry.
