Favorite Parts Of Working In The Self Publishing Industry As A Business Owner
Erik enjoys empowering aspiring authors to overcome the hurdles in the publishing process, as evidenced by the statistic that "between 80 and 90%" of people want to publish a book, but only 1% actually do, and getting people to an "end result and their book published" is most rewarding. By guiding clients through common pitfalls like editing while writing or feeling overwhelmed, Erik enables more individuals to achieve their dream of becoming published authors.

What do you enjoy the most about being in your industry?
The thing I enjoy most about my industry is giving people the ability to achieve their publishing goals. I can't remember the exact statistic, but it used to be that 90% of people wanted to publish a book, while only 1% actually did. I've heard figures between 80% and 90% of people want to publish, yet still, only 1% do.
There are so many reasons people stop or don't finish their books. Some don't know how to start, while others edit as they write, which makes the process no fun and hinders continuation. Many freeze because they think of the whole book at once and believe every word has to be perfect.
They might not know how to produce it or where to begin. There are numerous points along the journey from idea to manuscript, and manuscript to published book, where people can drop out.
So, what I enjoy most is guiding people through the entire process, helping them achieve an end result with their book published.
