What advice would you give students with a major in the social sciences who are not detail-oriented about finding their first job?
Beyond figuring out how to be detail-oriented, the biggest thing is to have follow-through. If you reach out for an informational interview, follow up with that person.
If that person offers you time, follow up with them. If you get an interview, follow up with an email afterward. Follow-through is about the most important thing that I could possibly stress for folks.
When you're looking for a job, you have to convince an employer that you're going to be a good asset for them. The best way you can do that is by showing up.
