What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I'd say learning about new countries and cultures. I never get tired of learning about economics, politics, and history in new countries.
Also, I get to make a lot of friends around the globe working in this field. These are friends I get to see when I travel to emerging markets.
It's probably one of the other great attributes of this job: the number of different people involved in my industry. I get to meet people from all around the world. I reflect upon the people on my team. I've got people from Hungary, Russia, Brazil, China, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore represented.
So, lots of different countries, lots of different views. It's such a great way to learn different perspectives on global events, particularly the non-Western view. For instance, it's really interesting to view things from the lens of the so-called Global South and see their perspective, how it's not just so straightforward.
