What is one lesson that you've learned that has proven significant in your career?

I think one of the most important things I didn't know when I started as a lawyer, and I know now, is that developing relationships with people is very important. By that, I mean not just exchanging business cards at a big reception, but following up, having coffee with someone, and getting to know them.

It's about hearing their story and then repeating that process with someone else. The goal is to get to know people who are doing different things, who are connected with your field or in an adjacent field in different ways. And it's crucial to remain connected with them.
