What skills are most important for a job like yours?
A lot of different skills, but I think the two most important are having a really good memory. I think I have a photographic memory, so I think that has always helped.
Having a good memory, and then having sleuth-like, detective skills. If you're a good detective, you're going to be really good at litigation and in similar criminal contexts.
The reason I say that is because there are many, many details at play in these kinds of cases. I will single-handedly find evidence that will make or break a case from a Facebook post that a witness posted about.
You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff that is found on social media that can make or break a case. That's where the detective skills come into play.
I think that's incredibly important because you really need to go through the facts over and over again and know the case cold to be effective at trial. I am someone who goes to trial, and to be effective, you just have to know that stuff inside out.
So I think a combination of those two skills are most important for this area of the law.
