What an Associate Professor at Mt. San Jacinto College Wishes They Had Known
David wishes someone had told them to take education more seriously earlier in life. As a Communication Studies professor, David reflects that not taking high school seriously initially led to needing to "make up for that" with "a lot of education," advising current students to "wake up a little bit more" and focus on academics instead of less productive activities.

What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?
I had to make up for not taking my college courses seriously at first. I had about 15 years of education.
I didn't take high school seriously, but I did much better in community college. Once I got to Long Beach, I took things very seriously and did well.
I wish I had woken up a bit more when I was younger and taken it more seriously. I would have tried to get better grades instead of going to the beach all the time.
