What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
My main responsibility as a clinical research pharmacist at UCLA involves researching cancer drugs. Anything that is not an FDA-approved cancer drug gets shipped to our institution.
I look for patients who are good candidates for certain drugs. I administer these drugs and observe how patients react to them.
Some drugs can be miraculous, while others can have very serious side effects. My primary role is to gather this data and report it to the FDA and the pharmaceutical company to show what is happening with these drugs.
Ultimately, my main role is to save human lives and determine if there are any miracle drugs.
