Transcript

What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before entering the industry?

Math and statistics, particularly Excel. I wish I had spent more time on quantitative skills in college. I didn't use them much in the military, but they're essential in my current role.

When I left the military and joined Amazon, I took many online classes to learn Excel, from basic to advanced. I also learned how to perform various operational calculations and other quantitative skills.

I believe the quantitative aspects of my role are something I wish I had understood the depth of beforehand. I could have planned better in the six months before leaving the military, rather than trying to learn at night after 12-hour shifts.
