What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
There's something new every single day, so it doesn't get stale. Earlier, we talked about a day in the life of this particular role. I highlighted a lot of generalities, but in the end, every day is slightly different.
I have different problems that I'm dealing with every day. These are problems I'm learning about or finding solutions for, so it's new and exciting. I'm making a lot of money for this company in a way I never thought I would when I left the military seven years ago.
The people are also a big thing. Anywhere I've gone at Amazon, I've loved the people I've worked with. When I left the military, I wasn't sure if I'd have the same camaraderie or team relationship. While it's not the same, it's very similar.
I love the people I work with; I think they're some of the smartest, most interesting people I've ever met. There are also people you can go grab a beer or cocktail with and just chitchat about any topic you're interested in. Those are key things I like about the company.
