What does a day in the life look like for you?

I'm a morning person, so my day starts early. I usually get up between 4 and 4:30 AM. That's my time for deep thinking.

I use a couple of hours before my baby wakes up to learn and develop different skills within generative AI. I focus on understanding various uses and tools to implement within my program. This morning routine also includes document writing.

Document writing is significant at Amazon; it's how we communicate. Everything is written, with very little PowerPoint. I use that quiet morning time for a lot of my writing and planning.

After that, I spend an hour or two on family matters, roughly from 6:30 to 8 AM. From 8 o'clock onwards, it's a normal workday, typically from 8 AM to 4 or 5 PM, depending on my tasks.

My workday is a mixture of meetings, and I usually try to keep them to 40% of the day. Sometimes this percentage goes higher depending on our current activities. These meetings are broken up with time for my internal team.

I have weekly syncs with my internal team to ensure their responsibilities are being fulfilled and they are hitting key milestones for their projects. I also have scheduled touchpoints with my leadership, including directors and VPs.

Additionally, I connect with my peers within the marketing program. We often have joint planning sessions to discuss upcoming marketing campaigns and investigate how to implement them within Amazon.

I try to leave some time in the afternoon as free time. This allows for ad hoc one-on-ones if team members need to discuss a project in greater detail or require assistance with something. It varies day to day, but those are some key themes of my workday.
