College Experiences That Helped a Director of Business Development and Strategic Marketing at Mintz Succeed

David credits college involvement with building a "foundational network" that is still valuable today, specifically mentioning joining Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity where the career professional rose to president, and becoming a founding father of Lambda Chi Alpha. Getting to know professors, faculty, and student leaders during that time created connections that now allow the career professional to serve on the Capital Campaign committee for the alumni group and "give back to the school."

Transcript

What did you do in college that set you up for success in your career?

I've always been highly extroverted. I enjoy people and draw energy from them. I really enjoy getting to know people.

Early in my college days, joining Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity at USD, was significant. I rose through the ranks and served as president of the chapter at one point.

As a result, I was asked to be a founding father of a Lambda Chi Alpha chapter when they sought to reboot on campus. We were able to get that chapter up and running.

My involvement in the USD community, getting to know professors, faculty, and student leaders, has been beneficial for my career. It helped create a foundational network that I still rely on today.

I currently serve on the Capital Campaign committee for the alumni group. I'm using those connections from college to give back to the school even today.
