What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?

The perseverance it's going to take to get where you want to go is significant. People have asked me what I do and how to do it. My friends don't even really know what I do; they just think I make videos and money.

But those who are interested and think they might want to do something like this, they ask about it. I tell them the formula. It's a formula that will work if you follow it, but it takes time. Most people who picture themselves as online entrepreneurs want it to happen immediately, within the next three months, wanting to be rich. It just doesn't happen like that.

All the podcasts and YouTube videos I listened to featured people who were all saying similar things. I focused on about five or six guys whose advice I really followed. I started putting together what they were doing, and it kept coming up again and again.

They would say, "Everyone thinks I'm an overnight success, but it took me seven years to get there." Every single one of them mentioned seven years. I kept hearing "seven years." I thought about it after hearing that repeatedly and told my wife, "I started the business in 2011 and quit my bar managing job in 2018." That's exactly how long it took me to get where I wanted to be and then grow it from there.

So, if you're going to do it, it will work, but you've got to put your head down. I think it can be done faster than seven years. In those seven years, I didn't know what I was doing. If you have someone helping you, it can probably be done in a couple of years, three or four maybe. But you still have to put your head down.

If you're young, you might go to college and then an entry-level job. How long will it take you to rise up and get a raise? People get excited by a $5,000 a year raise. I want to know how I can get a $10,000 a month raise, and there's no ceiling to what I do. Whereas with a salary, there's a definite ceiling.

So why wouldn't you stick with something for five years and go way up instead of just going into a job? If you stick with the formula, it will work, but you can't quit. Ninety-nine percent of people just quit. They don't think it's working, and they don't find another way or another route, and they're just done. That's where they fail.
