What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
As a software engineering manager, my current role requires me to ensure that the product I'm supporting is functioning well and is well maintained. This means if there are new requirements, I need to adequately provide resources to help the product grow and support the business.
I also need to ensure the product is running smoothly and continues to deliver business value. I'm responsible for making sure my direct reports are well taken care of and have the correct resources to achieve their day-to-day tasks.
Finally, my other role is to communicate general design architecture between other cross-functional teams. I make sure that when things change, this information is well communicated across the organization.
