One of the fun things about this role is seeing the high-level picture and how everything fits together. You learn how the business and the domain work, and how your projects fit in.
Rather than dealing with low-level details, you focus on high-level projects. You ensure projects are developed and can see them progress from start to finish. It's exciting to see how all the pieces from different teams, including your own, come together.
Another enjoyable aspect is watching your team members grow. This role often requires mentoring your directs. You work with individuals who may have trouble expressing their thoughts or communicating their ideas and intent.
Over time, you can see their level of growth. When they reach a new stage, you can place them on a different pedestal, and they can perform at that level. It's cool to see the changes and progression.
