What does a day in the life of a software engineer manager look like?
I tend to be in a lot of meetings. These meetings can be with stakeholder PMs or other management. Sometimes they are to help work with requirements, troubleshooting, fires, or vendors.
I also have one-on-ones with my directs. I have these meetings to ensure their career goals are aligned and to address any issues they might be having at work or at home that I can help rectify.
There are also architecture meetings where I join to provide input and review certain designs. Additionally, I participate in general scrum ceremonies, such as sprint reviews, stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives. I think that summarizes my day-to-day life.
