Who thrives in industry?

How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry? I think I've hit on them. It's really about work ethic and consistency, especially in ticket sales.

This is how most people get into the business side of sports. Every team is always hiring for new inside sales classes. That's where I would direct anyone who wants to work in this industry, as it presents the most opportunity.

Your success is determined purely by your work ethic. Can you make more calls than the next person? Can you send more emails? Can you go on more meetings? Can you create more relationships and prospect more?

I love that aspect because I felt like, however much of this I can control, I want to. I can control my work ethic and I can outwork the next person, so I'm going to do that. And it worked.

The downside is that you have to be extremely self-motivated and a real go-getter. If you kind of sit on your laurels and wait for things to come to you, they're not going to.

The best and most successful people in this space are the hardest workers. They come in the earliest and stay the latest. For some people, that's great and fits them perfectly. For others, it doesn't make sense.

But I love the aspect of controlling your own destiny in this. It doesn't mean there isn't a little bit of luck tied to it, but there's a clear formula for success: how hard you work. Can you outwork the next person? Are you reliable and positive? If you do those things, you will be successful in ticket sales.
