What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
The two things that really stand out for me and that I enjoy about this position are ownership of a significant part of the business. Over 30% of our total sales are driven by our partnership relationships.
This means I'm where the buck stops for that segment, and I own the P&L for that part of the business. Knowing I have a direct impact on the organization's growth and success is important to me. It gives me an entrepreneurial component to the job, which you don't necessarily get in many roles.
The second thing is the strong mix of experiences and challenges day to day. I work with large, mature partners who have their own unique challenges, and also with partners who are just getting started and facing their own set of unique issues.
Additionally, I negotiate new partnership relationships, which presents a whole other set of challenges. Being able to see the success of a partnership across this spectrum has allowed me to be successful in navigating these three different points in a partnership's life cycle.
For me, knowing that every day will be a little different, with new challenges and new opportunities, is something I've looked for. It keeps the job interesting and my role exciting.
