What do you enjoy most about being in your current row?

This was a very challenging role for me. It was the first time I was leading a team officially. I think what I liked most about it was the trade-off, the combination of it being very challenging but at the same time very rewarding.

As a protocol owner, you are responsible for the success of the product. This means that if it doesn't go well, you are also responsible, even though sometimes the reasons why you didn't deliver a certain feature or whatever don't depend on you. You don't have all the resources, and you don't make all the decisions, but you are responsible for it.

That's a very challenging situation, how you manage that and that dependency on other people. I really enjoyed it because it helped me enhance the skills I mentioned before. It also provided me with more of a spotlight in my organization.

I was the main advocate for my product, communicating its mission, its goals, its progress, and results to senior executives. I presented to institute committees. That was very challenging but at the same time rewarding because I felt very accomplished after that. Of course, getting to that point was a lot of work.
