What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
Honestly, the ability to go to sea. Growing up in Kansas, there was always the sentiment that you'll never see anything as beautiful as a Kansas sunset. Then I went to sea and saw sunsets at sea, and I have to beg to differ now.
But I can't always be at sea. That would be a detriment to my family and to the growth of others. Secondly, I would say that I enjoy integration—the ability to work with others from different backgrounds and career fields.
These individuals join the Navy for a multitude of reasons. Coming together to achieve one mission and knowing that we have each other's back through thick and thin is something that many other industries do not get to experience.
