Favorite Parts Of Being A Director Of Communications And Outreach At Lumina Alliance
Clementine, Director of Communications and Outreach at Lumina Alliance, finds immense satisfaction in aligning her passion with her profession, stating that "I really get to make my passion the center of my job" in raising awareness about domestic and family violence, a cause kept "in the dark for so long." This allows Clementine to make a direct impact, unlike many for-profit roles where such alignment is less common.

What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I think what I enjoy most about being in my current role and working in a nonprofit is that I really get to make my passion the center of my job. I'm really passionate about shining a light on the issue of domestic and family violence because it's been kept in the dark for so long and not discussed.
Not only do I get to work directly in that, but it's my job to shout it from the rooftops to make sure everyone knows what's going on. I want to ensure that proper attention is given to this serious public health issue.
I don't think a lot of people in their jobs necessarily get to do that. If you work in a for-profit industry, you don't always have the opportunity to work towards an issue you're really passionate about.
I feel really special that I get to do that every day. I don't really come in and ask myself, "Why am I doing this? What's the point of this job?" I kind of get to skip that because I know what the point of my job is and I know what the impact is.
