I think I enjoyed the role because of a few things in my background. My journals and background led to analytics, and I was a lifelong consumer of the Daily Times.
Those aspects are enjoyable because I read a lot, and I also read a lot about analytics. Having those two together is really important to me.
Also, as a function of the job, I'm able to directly affect the newsroom. I can make engineering decisions myself and build dashboards. These can inform both sides on how we can move the business forward.
