Transcript
A day-to-day includes a few things that are non-meeting related. These tasks involve checking the pulse of the newsroom in terms of what has performed best over the previous few days or week.
We have dashboards that we've built to monitor polls and alerts. This affects the Newsroom through either Slack updates or push notifications.
It's about understanding the pulse of how everything is performing, how our data streams are performing. If something is broken, I'll hop on that.
There's also a lot of research into backend migration. For example, I'm working on a project to migrate everything to Google Cloud. We need to understand if other changes need to be made in the stack.
We need to be on top of this and be able to speak to our CIO and CTO about it. This ensures all engineers are aware of what they need to do to make things work.
