As someone who identifies as female, how has that impacted how you navigate your career?
From my experience, the buying and creative industry I've worked in has been incredibly supportive of senior roles for females. It's a very conducive industry that has allowed a lot of opportunity for women.
I haven't faced much prejudice or challenges, unlike some other industries, such as finance, which might not typically be as supportive. The creative and buying industry has been very open-minded, forward-thinking, and progressive.
This is largely because we focus on cultural trends and staying relevant. Overall, the industry has been very welcoming and open-minded, which I've really appreciated.
It allows for more creativity and greater opportunity to further my own career. It also supports brands and founders at all levels. There is a real intention to support female founders and underrepresented founders across the board.
This has allowed me to feel satisfaction and fulfillment in my career, and it's something I've really appreciated about the industry.
