What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?

There are a lot of opportunities right now in audio over IP technologies. I would suggest to any undergraduate student to look into this if they're in broadcast, look to networking. If they're in networking, look to audio engineering.

If they're in audio engineering, look to either of the others for opportunities. This could be at a broadcast facility, or at your school's news organization.

Another great opportunity is something that everybody's doing, which is startup podcasting. You can just figure it out along the way.
