How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

There are some particular common threads across all of my colleagues. One of them is being very flexible.

Work honestly can happen at any time during the day or the week. So last night, I was texting with my boss at 10 at night. That doesn't mean I'm working from 9:00 AM all the way to 10, but it's not unusual at all for me to be emailing, calling, or texting at 10.

Just a willingness to help and work when and wherever that's necessary is definitely a common thread. There's also some amount of travel. I've been traveling from coast to coast for due diligence on an acquisition, for a conference, or for an event that we're throwing for investors. These are reasons for me to travel to Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, or elsewhere.

This isn't a nine-to-five job. There will be demands placed on you to do something on a Sunday, a Saturday, or late at night, as I mentioned. That is going to be the nature of the beast when it comes to this industry.
