What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant throughout your career?
I love this, whether you consider yourself an expert, a guru, a novice, or somewhere in between. Wherever you are on the scale of expertise, whether you feel new to life or seasoned, today is your first day at being this age, doing this thing.
You have zero experience at what's coming today and tomorrow. Every day is a new opportunity for you to grow. You look at a lot of people around you, wishing you could be like them, but they don't know I have a... they're wearing it just like you.
Maybe we do the best we can with the information, the skills, and the resources we have. It doesn't mean we make the best decisions all the time. But you have to learn from your mistakes, get better, and learn what works for you, for where you're going in the future, and for the things that you need in your life.
Give yourself grace. We all mess up. Guess what? We do some things that are really great too, and we don't beat ourselves up about that. So sometimes you do things that just don't meet your own standard and you're disappointed.
Give yourself the grace you give someone else. Forgive yourself. Keep it moving. Learn the lesson from it and go from there. You would be surprised how amazing you are.
Sometimes we stuff ourselves with all the doubt that we have, the disbelief. "I can't do this." The limiting self-belief. Do it anyway. Do it scared, do it without, do it tentatively. Just do it. Your future self will thank you for it. Stay amazing.
