What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would have told you before you entered the industry?

I think I've already touched on that a bit. I'll try to elaborate further.

There's just a lot more possibility than I initially thought, and the path of working in nonprofits has a much greater length to it than I realized. Working in the nonprofit sector isn't the same old routine; it can be thankless work at times.

However, when you can do a certain role or work within a specific industry, and then tailor that to be specific to that industry, you become even more valuable. So, I think it's really about not limiting yourself.

Don't limit yourself to thinking it's just one little road, and you'll always be a servant to someone, or working for some random person who gets all the accolades. You are very much a part of the business, a part of the flow.

I would also emphasize the importance of valuing yourself in your role. I wish someone had told me that I was valuable in the role I was already in at a younger age, rather than feeling that way only now. So, yes, I would definitely say that.
