What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
In my current role, there are a couple of things I really love, and one is why I got into nursing in the first place: to help people. Whether people are recovering or at the end of their lives, I feel I can help them or their families during that specific time. I truly believe I make a difference in people's lives.
Another aspect I love is my current schedule as a bedside nurse. I work 12-hour shifts, three days a week, giving me four days off. This schedule isn't universal for all nurses, but it's common for many bedside nurses and offers a lot of flexibility.
While we do have to work weekends and holidays, which is unfortunate, I still have weekdays off. This allows me time for errands when places are less crowded. The schedule offers significant flexibility, and having blocks of days off is wonderful. I truly enjoy this aspect of my job.
