What does a day in the life of an HR business partner look like?

Every day can look different, but I think of it as a mix of short-term, immediate fire drills that need to be resolved that day. There are medium-term things that I'll likely work on for a week or two to finish.

Then there are longer-term projects, which in my world often means something for the quarter, or at most six months. An immediate task might be a leader needing attrition data for a meeting tomorrow.

Something more medium-term could be working on a talent review cadence for my entire organization. This involves rolling it out, building materials, and developing a communication plan.

An even longer-term project I'm working on now is preparing for our largest sales conference of the year. We'll have an HR-related booth focused on leader enablement, which requires about six months of planning. So, it's just a mix of very short-term to more long-term projects that keep me entertained.
