What do you enjoy most about being in your role?

I truly enjoy being able to be a voice for others in the building. Growing up, I never really envisioned myself working in politics or policy, but to be in a capital building where I get paid to advocate on behalf of communities is an experience that I don't take for granted.

It also makes me feel so excited to go to work every single day knowing that I'm uplifting the community and their voice. The intersection where community and policy come together is so impactful. It really fills my cup to be able to say that I'm working on policy that directly shapes the systems we live in.

It's incredible to be able to say that, and that's what I really enjoy the most. I enjoy being able to say I helped secure funding for schools or secure grants for individuals. It's so rewarding and impactful to say that I've been able to do so many things during my tenure here in Sacramento.

I really enjoy being able to say that I'm doing it with those intentions in mind, that I'm helping my community and people like me.
