What is your biggest challenge in your current role?

The biggest challenge I typically face is when working with a client. They have their own priorities and goals for the work they're briefing you on.

This information isn't always clearly given to the agency, so you have to figure out what they're really looking for. You might pitch an idea you believe perfectly matches their request, only to receive feedback that doesn't make sense or isn't in line with their original briefing.

This can be frustrating. As the account person, you have to explain to your team why you're getting conflicting feedback. You might also need to press the client, and sometimes they may not fully understand themselves, perhaps due to direction from their own superiors.

It involves navigating a lot of what feels like "politicalness," even though that's not a real word. It truly reflects the work we do and can be challenging and taxing.

However, it's worth it when you're able to create something and get it out the door. Ultimately, everyone forgets the political aspects and games played when there's something really cool being produced.
