What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
The construction and engineering industries are unique because everyone is so singularly minded. Everyone has one goal: to build buildings and make things. It's really interesting to meet people with different backgrounds who share this singular focus.
What I enjoy most are the different characters you meet throughout your career. Many people, like me, came into this field without expecting to be in construction or engineering. This leads to great stories and different perspectives on how things work.
You also meet people who have been doing this for a long time. They've seen things evolve and can share stories about how things used to be, which is really fascinating.
