Favorite Parts of Working in the Software Industry as a Go to Market Enablement Director

Caitlin enjoys the software industry due to its rapid pace of change, which forces "organizations to stay super sharp," along with the opportunity to build roles and functions, especially at smaller companies, where career pathways can be developed. Furthermore, Caitlin appreciates the chance to contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the industry, which has "historically been knocked for its lack of" these values.

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

Software is always changing and moves super quickly. The markets become very saturated very fast.

This forces people and organizations to stay sharp. Another thing I really like is there are many opportunities to build roles and functions.

You can lean into areas, especially in smaller organizations, where you see an opportunity for development or revenue. You can build these pathways for yourself.

This is also an industry that historically has been criticized for its lack of diversity, equity, and inclusion. That's changing. So anyone who is passionate or a DEI advocate has a great opportunity to make their mark.
