Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Did you have any internships or jobs before your current role?
Yes, I got into UCLA as a UCLA Chancellor's Blue and Gold Scholar. I think that was the first year they did it, in the fall of 1998.
Part of that program involves 20 hours of community service. So while at UCLA, I was involved with the "I'm Going to College" program, and I would volunteer giving tours to students.
It was great for me because it got me involved in my community early on. I also did speech and debate, and I participated in wrestling.
Then I went on to law school. I had various jobs, participated with the Neighborhood Legal Services in the self-help center, and interned at the District Attorney's office as a law clerk. There, I got to do things like preliminary hearings and motions.
I was a big part of the mock trial team and the alternate dispute resolution team. Ultimately, I got a job here as a Deputy District Attorney.
