What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
One of the biggest challenges currently facing law enforcement, and criminal prosecution within that field, is a misconception about what is involved. Generally, there's a negative view of law enforcement and prosecutors.
This negative view is not founded. Our roles are about community public safety. We work to protect victims and absolutely believe in a defendant's right to a fair trial and process.
A major challenge is that "one bad apple" can create a negative perception for everyone. The current trend is to label everyone in this profession as overreaching, which is not the case.
