Brian, proprietor and general manager at Crux Winery, finds the "collegiality of small winemakers" most rewarding, a stark contrast to his corporate past. This collaborative spirit fosters a free exchange of "information, ideas, sometimes equipment, um, and help manpower," creating a supportive environment for mutual success within the industry.

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
Having been in the corporate world, one of the things I enjoy most about the winery industry, especially amongst small winemakers, is the sharing that goes on. This includes information, ideas, sometimes equipment, and help with manpower.
It's a very collegial group of people who want to help each other succeed. There's not a lot of intellectual property, and we're not making wine from a recipe.
So, the collegiality of small winemakers is really refreshing.
