What would you enjoy most about being in your industry?
Education is one of the most important things for an individual student and for our society as a whole. I learned that lesson very early on in my teaching career, and I think it has been reaffirmed for me personally, and I would also argue for us as a society.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of education and the impact on kids when they don't have access to school because schools were closed. Being able to have an impact in that sector is so important to individuals and to society.
This is really something that's super important to me. One of the things that I really learned very early on in my teaching career was that every kid has immense potential. It's really up to teachers and other adults in a student's life to help them find and un-tap that potential.
In some ways, our education system is doing that, and in some ways, it's not. I'm really motivated by how we can unlock and un-tap the potential of students.
