What is your biggest challenge in your current role?
I think it all evolved over time. I've only been in this role for six to eight weeks, about six weeks. You think right now it was, and that was starting to evolve. It's just getting a sense for the organization, the context, the history.
There's so much institutional knowledge and unwritten rules in an organization that anytime you enter a new job, it's an investment. I think particularly for this job, Chief of Staff, it's about digging up and understanding all that institutional history to continue to help the organization move forward. That was a challenge.
I think I'm starting to move past that. The next challenge is identifying what's next. What are ways I can continue to enhance my impact? My boss did a great job outlining my key responsibilities, but I know there are opportunities for even more impact.
So, I'm trying to identify what other Chiefs of Staff do really well and what other ways I can continue to increase my impact.
