What does a day in the life of a program manager look like?

My work is project-based. Because I'm in mergers and acquisitions, it's dependent on the type of deal we're working on, as well as the stage or maturity of that deal.

For instance, if we're assessing a new company we want to acquire and we're in diligence, my days are focused on meeting with potential targets to assess how we would integrate them and identify any risks in integrating them.

If we've already acquired the company, I'm focused on standing up different projects and initiatives that help the acquired teams collaborate better with Google while they're operating in different systems. I could be working on multiple deals at the same time, and they can be at different stages of the M&A lifecycle.

There's typically a lot of variety and context switching in my day-to-day job. If I'm not focused on deal work specifically, I'm trying to build playbooks for how my team should be engaging with other teams within Google, as well as with future acquisition or divestiture targets.
