What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
Goal setting was really important for me. In my undergrad days, I navigated college well because I was able to set concrete, attainable goals.
For instance, I always knew I was interested in business. The first step was getting into the business school. To do that, I needed to achieve a certain GPA and take specific classes. Being able to take a goal and figure out the tactical steps to get there was critical.
Once I was in the business school, I really wanted to do the entrepreneurship program, as that was my interest. Again, I figured out the requirements and put my effort into achieving those sub-goals.
Breaking down different goals into action plans is not only the backbone of success in my undergrad career but also how business works and how people are productive. The basic concept of being able to goal set and set expectations with yourself and with others is really critical to success.
