What a Field Services Assistant at Walt Disney Studios Wishes They Had Known Before Entering the Entertainment Industry
Bree, a Field Services Assistant at Walt Disney Studios, learned that a career in film and television is attainable for anyone with "hardworking, determined," and "flexible" qualities, contrary to the initial perception that it requires specific skills or a certain "type of person." The most valuable lesson was the realization that "anyone can really accomplish what they want with entertainment if they have the stamina and the determination."

What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?
I think there are a ton of things that I wish people had told me. The most important thing is that you don't need to be a specific type of person or have specific skills, other than being hardworking, determined, and flexible.
I felt that working as a production assistant or an assistant in film and TV was not achievable for me because I thought only specific people could get those roles. But as I've learned working in entertainment, that's not true.
It's really about encouragement. I wish someone had told me that it's not as hard as you think, and that you can do it. Anyone can accomplish what they want in entertainment if they have the stamina and the determination.
