What are some of the biggest challenges within your current role?
I would say the biggest challenges. As a civil engineer, what I do usually involves working with the landowner. They want to develop their land and put as many homes on it as possible, so they can make the most money.
We have to work with the existing topography and infrastructure. We also consider if there is water service or sanitary sewer to the property, and how to get all of that to work. That's kind of our biggest challenge every time.
It's about getting the most bang for a buck for a developer, because the more money they make, the happier they are.
