What's one lesson you've learned that's proven significant in your career?
To find something you love, something that makes it exciting to wake up every morning and talk about with your friends and family. I feel that I've found that. As a labor lawyer representing unions, it is my passion.
I enjoyed every day of it, and I enjoyed being in a law firm that I had started. I enjoyed having friends there and watching young people come in, go through, and develop as attorneys with their commitment to working people. I think that's the most important thing.
I think there are sort of two parts to our lives: our work life and our family life. I feel really blessed in both.
