What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
For my clients, I'm responsible for all the legal aspects of their businesses. They are small businesses, so they will have legal issues that are not directly in my expertise.
This includes dealing with labor law issues for their employees, looking at their office leases, and managing any litigation they get involved in. Even if I'm not the lead litigator, I help manage these situations.
For the most part, I give them guidance on how to stay in compliance with various rules and laws that apply to their business and the investment management field. These are mostly federal securities laws.
I also help keep them out of trouble with their clients. I make sure that the agreements they have are solid and have proper disclosures in them.
