What skills are most important for a job like yours?
Time management is definitely the most important because you have very strict deadlines. If you don't meet those deadlines, the show goes on without you, and then you don't do your job for that day.
Keeping track of time every day and knowing what you are capable of during that time period is crucial. A lot of times, stories will demand more from you than you have time for. So, sometimes you just have to say, "No, I have to get back to the station and write. I don't have time to do another interview."
A lot of rejecting people sometimes, and a lot of people rejecting you. That's probably the second most important thing: having a backbone. People are going to be mean to you and say awful things.
You just have to know that they have way too much time on their hands and not enough important things to do than comment on other people. So, I'd say time management is most important for doing your job well. And thick skin is most important for doing the job in the long run.
